Perhaps you get a different impression when you read my blog but not everything works that well in Norway. I explain.

I always say yeah Norway is great and stuff but there is one thing I’m deeply sad about I want to complain.

I’m supposed to cook Portuguese food to an international evening this Thursday and after consulting my mother I decided to try “Bacalhau à brás” (second picture in the end is the final result) and “Mango Mousse” (first picture in the end) and I had some “guinea-pigs” (please don’t get offended by the expression) over today because it was the first time I cooked in my life.

The “bacalhau” turned out quite well with the help of my host-mother I managed to make an eatable dish and perhaps because of the longing, it tasted very well. I think the other people also liked it. Either that or they pretended very well. The problem was the “mousse”. It wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t great either. To try to save it I decided to put tangerine and chocolate on top. It did look good but the taste… I’m sure it I’ll be better the next time.

By the way, what I want to complain about Norway is the Portuguese Embassy because I e-mailed them asking where I can buy some ingredients I needed to my dish and so far (after five days) I haven’t received an answer. I mean, it’s not like they have more important things to do than that.
